The impressive Gare des Benedictins railway station was built at the beginning of the last century with a magnificent dome in slate, engraved glass, copper, wrought iron and other materials. It was built on land that was once a Benedictines convent, hence, Gare des Benedictins. The inside of the station shows stained glass windows that bear numerous Limousin symbols.
If you are even changing trains at Gare des Benedictins station, go outside and see the impressive exterior of this building.

On a grimmer note : the village of Oradour-sur-Glane
On June 10, 1944, a Nazi SS Division surrounded the village of Oradour-sur-Glane, a few miles west of Limoges, then ordered its 642 inhabitants to assemble in the town square. Women and children were then herded into the town church which was set on fire while they were machine-gunned. Men were executed. The entire town was then set on fire. A total of 245 women, 207 children and 190 men were killed.
Oradour-sur-Glane was never rebuilt, forever standing as a silent monument to Nazi atrocities.
More Info: A motto on the new Oradour town brochure reflects the attitude of its people: `Ni haine - ni oubli.` Neither hate nor forgetfulness.

The village of St-Cirq-la-Popie
This crazy and breathtaking village is built on the side at top of a rock dome. Park near the bottom and circle the narrow, crooked streets and stairs that let you visit the village.

Gouffre de Padirac
The Padirac 'void' is a HUGE hole, ancient remains of a lake or something that erode overtime with an underground river running through magnificent limestone caverns some of which we can visit. We descend by elevator, then stairs, to the underground river. You can take a boat ride on the river... incredible.
The view from the bottom in incredible. You are in a dark and moist cavity looking up at the distant sky through a 100 feet diameter opening!!! And it's rainning on your head!

Grottes de Lascaux II, gorgeous caves with representations of cave men drawings and paintings.
Full replica of the original Lascaux caves. They built these in order to protect the original from excessive circulation, stamping, flash photography, even breathing that would overtime damage or destroy the pre-historical carvings and drawings on the walls of the caves.
