The old town of Saint Yrieix la Perche is worth having a look at. To enter it, I had to walk through the old town gates and along the cobble stone streets. I saw some unusual house's, and half-timbered homes. The Church dates back to the 12th century, so this town is really old.

The Hotel De Ville, which is really the Town Hall was a very nice building. There are nice gardens and lawns surrounding it, and at the front is the War Memorial. The Tourist information centre is also located here.

When I was walking around the old town of Saint-Yrieix-La-Perche, I came across this large Romanesque Church. I thought it was pretty plain on the outside, but it did have an interesting old door.
The church was built in the 12th century, and was renovated and remodeled in the 19th century. Inside are some treasure's, plus the nave and transept date back to the 12th century.

As it happened, we came across this Lake and parkland area when we arrived at our Hotel. To make it better, we were given a room with a beaut view of the Lake.
The following morning, we drove halfway around the Lake, but the road does do the full Lakeside circuit. Early morning, and the calm Lake had lovely reflections, especially of the large Raiway Viaduct.
There is plenty of lawned area, and if you are here in Summer, you can enjoy water activities, beach-volleyball and archery. Yes, they have a Beach!
A caravan park is nearly lakeside, I couldn't think of a nicer place to stay.
Better still, on July 14th [Bastille Day] they hold fireworks using the lake setting and the viaduct.
Now, that would be something to see!
