After several days in Nancy, I couldn't decide what would be the most spectacular time to see Stanislas square: day or night?
A perfect illumination, and the relief won by Town Hall under the lights are responsible for the doubt. Maybe at night...
Or by day...
But at night...

In the night one can enjoy the golden gilding of the fountains against the dark statues and again see the details of the statues of Amphitriton and Neptune, left and right. This is the best sight in Nancy, not be missed if staying the night.
Dress Code: I hope it is a dry delightful evening.

Right there on Place Stanislas you will find the Opéra nationale de Lorraine in a building that used to house the tax collectors offices!
We did not see any performance there, but we managed to sneak in and see just a little of the beauty of this building! I can imagine it to be quite an experience to see an opera in this beautiful building!
Check out the program on the website below!

What a sight this is: the illuminated glittering Place Stanislas in the very center of Nancy! We enjoyed it thoroughly on the evening of our wedding anniversary - and enjoyed it even more so with a glass of champagne!
The cafés are open until late and even without a drink it is a spectacular atmosphere!

It is difficult to walk in the area around the Place Stanislas and resist stopping in a pastry shop for a dessert (or a second one) after eating in the old town earlier.
