While we did sightseeing our own way we saw this little train more than once: it is a multilanguage sightseeing tour that lasts about 45 minutes and gives you a nice overview of either Place Stanislas and the old part of town or the Art Nouveau quarter of Nancy.
The train leaves just outside the Trimphal Arch on Place de la Carriere.
Do have a look at their website to find out about times, languages and fares.

The Nancy train station is only 5 - 10 minute walk from Place Stanislas at 3, Place Thiers. In summer 2007 the TGV, the famous French high speed train, will start connecting Nancy with Paris (90 minutes only!!!) and Karlsruhe! For more information on that issue, have a look at this website: http://www.tgvesteuropeen.com

Nancy is easily accessible by car. The highways A4 and A31 pass by Nancy and being a large city you can drive around the town itself without any problem. There are plenty of parking spaces available - even in the city center. Just follow the signs!

I heard the noise in the city and when I looked intently at the end of the street I saw this. It's ecological transport that became very popular in France. To be true I didn't use it because I like walking by feet. But if you feel tired you may go by train to some places in the city center.

I used train for my trip to Nancy and for my journeys from Nancy. I spent 3 hours that to get the city from Paris and it was EUR 55 to and back. Don't forget to punch your ticket before taking board!

express train from Paris - takes around 2 hours

cars- no traffic jam!
