Its 5 December and Le Mourtis is open. Le Mourtis is the ski resort closest to Saint Beat (10km).

Saint Beat is known as the 'Key to France' as it is only 7km from the border of Spain. It is a lovely traditional village that hasn't changed in hundred's of years.

The Garonne River flows through the centre offering anglers the opportunity to come and fish in one of the best rivers in France.

Saint-Béat Transportation

Transportation is available but not readily available.

You can catch a train to Montrejeau, Saint Gaudens, Luchon and the bus to Marignac but you are much better off in your own car or motorbike. That way you can get around, see all the sites and not waste any time.

Saint-Béat Local Customs

Years ago Saint Beat provided marble to the major areas of Europe including Paris, Rome and many more.

Every year the village celebrates its history and holds a Sculpture Festival where a sculptor takes up residence for at least 4 weeks and chisels out a new statue/sculpture for the village.

As you walk around the village, you cant go more than 50 m without bumping into another scupture, they are superb.
