The atmosphere lives up to the name - a lot of Brits living in Toulouse love this pub style bar, but it also attracts a lot of French and also visitors from all countries. The winning thing about this pub is that it's family run and the family are fantastic!
Don't think of the usual Brits abroad type theme pub, this place has really manged to live up to it's name and create a "melting pot" that has something for everyone!

Toulouse looks wonderful by night. If you visit in summer, I recommend walking around the city in the evening or at sunset and appreciate the sights. Place du Capitole in particular looks great - it's also a nice place to sit out and have a drink.

Toulouse it is overnight festive in all seasons.
Don't miss the unique opportunities to pass the overnight whole to make the feast in the street:
For the Feast of Music, June 21: some amateur orchestras are in all streets, on all places, in all bars, all night long.
For July 14, national Feast, with popular dances.
In winter, the feast is in the bars and them nightclubs...
In summer, the terraces of the bars invade the sidewalks, and the feast is in the street.

Les Antilles Live! I tried passing by there one day after work and I couldn't resist the temptation to enter, the music was pulling you in. Once inside, the atmosphere is great, there are live bands and the drinks are straight out of the islands! Do not feel shy to get acquainted with the owner, he lived in Martinique for a few years and he will be more than happy to fill you on any of the details.
Dress Code: No dress code I am aware of...last time I was there, some old man took off his shirt, so enjoy and let yourself go...

This is the first pub I fell upon, I was actually having my first dinner across the street when I heard the activity going on. The first week I was in Toulouse was during the international Rugby festival, so the Melting Pot became a place of preference quite fast, there was an unbelievable amount of interesting people to meet from SA, Australia, NZ, England and on the list went. Great place to stop by and have a drink, most of the clientele were regulars so it was easy to feel comfortable.

Payment is based on a Casino system made of chips, minimum amount is 40 frs (6-7 euros). If you want a feel of the music the southern french are listening to, this is the place! Order a bottle if you wander in as a group, you will find it much cheaper. At the end of the night, keep the leftover chips for the next time you are in the area! Do not eat there, there are many more places you could head for a better feed.
Dress Code: Semi-Casual, whatever you feel comfortable in, people do tend to dress up.

If it's offer when you're around, jump on the opportunity! It's not a year round attraction, but they do it sometimes. So inside this beautifull old building, they can present you a intimate concert and sit you at a magnificient table in the hall for a royal feast.

To begin the 'soirée', you can have a lunch at 'Tommy's Café' and, from there, anything is possible!...
