- le portail de pierre, sur la rue, qui donne accès à une petite cour.
- de chaque coté, une tour carrée, dont celle de gauche, percée de sept niveaux de fenêtres surmontées de mirandes, est flanquée, à droite par une tourelle sur trompe dans laquelle passe un escalier de pierre hélicoïdal (il faut me croire), éclairé par cinq fenêtres étroites superposées (photo).
- les deux tours carrées sont reliées par une coursière centrale, posée sur deux arcs.

Hôtel du XVIème à la façade de brique percée d'un portail, de brique et pierre alternée, flanquée de deux bouteroues, surmontée d'un entablement à la frise denticulée et coiffée d'un portique au balcon en fer forgé ; la tour octogonale est percée de fenêtres à accolade, qui éclairent un escalier à vis.

Jean de Bagis, président du parlement en 1544, fit construire l'hôtel qui est situé au N° 25 de la rue de la Dalbade.
En 1608, François de Clari, président du parlement lui aussi, fait entreprendre la façade sur rue. Pour montrer sa puissance et sa richesse, il fait utiliser la pierre et l'hôtel est rapidement appelé "ostal de peira".
C'est ainsi que l'on peut communément, depuis, appeler l'hôtel de Clari : l'hôtel de pierre.
En 1613, Clari contrôle les travaux du Pont-Neuf. Une innondation emporte la chaussée du Bazacle, entraînant une baisse importante du niveau du fleuve et mattant à jour plusieurs blocs de marbre provennant, probablement, d'un monument antique. Il n'en faut pas plus pour que l'on dise : "I mai de peiras à l'ostal de peira que de peiras al pont".

L'hôtel du XVIème siècle à été détruit lors du percement de la rue : on y a reconstruit sur la façade orientale intérieure une parte de la galerie sur de l'ancien bâtiment ornée de bustes en haut-relief. Dans les angles, des verrières - constructions curvilignes métalliques sur culots décorés, fermées de vitres colorées - ajoutées au XIXème siècle, ornent l'ensemble.

La façade, ornée de pilastres composites, est percée, au premier étage, d'une fenêtre en anse de panier s'ouvrant sur un balcon à balustres surmonté d'un fronton.
Au fond de la cour à droite, on peut voir (en dehors de la présence des élèves, et lorsque l'école est tout de même ouverte - c'est à dire rarement !), la très jolie façade de l'hôtel Mascensal.

La porte cochère de gauche (XVII) en anse de panier, est accolée à une porte murée (XVI) en arc plein cintre aux voussures en pierres taillées en pointe de diamant ; chacune des deux portes est surmontée d'un oculus ovale et d'un fronton triangulaire.

La porte située sur la façade ouest de la cour est due à Nicolas Bachelier, qui, avec ces deux atlantes vieillissant montre sa parfaite maîtrise de son art.
Né au début du siècle d'une famille de tailleurs de pierre, Toulouse devait découvrir son talent vers 1533. Il dut certainement apprendre en Italie sa technique d'une indéniable virtuosité.
C'est en 1538 que sa carrière connut un tournant décisif, avec sa première réalisation de grande envergure. Jean de Bagis, s'était piqué de donner à sa demeure un faste et un luxe à la hauteur de sa réussite et de la gloire de sa famille...

Portail en plein cintre entouré de quatre colonnes corinthiennes géminées et surmonté d'une composition très chargée avec termes, cabochons, rondes-bosses, etc.
Si vous pouvez entrer (en semaine c'est parfois possible) :
- dans la première cour : arceau avec cabochons de marbre et tour d'escalier à six fenêtres superposées à encadrement de pierre.
- dans la deuxième cour à gauche : tourelle d'angle en encorbellement sur culot sculpté d'angelots soutenant une guirlande de fruits et fenêtre renaissance.

Tour gothique octogonale abritant un escalier à vis éclairé par quatre fenêtres carrées ; la porte de la tour est coiffée de deux lions soutenant un écusson martelé.
La pièce supérieure est couverte d'une voûte à huit arrêtes à la clef ornée du monogramme du Christ, entrelacé avec l'Ave Maria ; la présence de huit culots sculptés au niveau de la naissance des marches de ciment montre qu'il y a eu d'importantes modifications et en particulier que la tour a du être rehaussée.

Tour hexagonale de 15533, flanquée d'une tourelle à encorbellement, percée d'une porte au fronton orné d'un bas-relief représentant deux lions soutenant un blason surmonté d'une urne voilée entourée de deux anges. La première fenêtre, flanquée de pilastres, est ornée de deux amours jouant avec une guirlande de fruits pendant qu'un troisième présente une corne d'abondance. Cette tour abrite le plus bel escalier à vis de la ville, invisible car la porte est munie d'une serrure à code.
