A bicycle ride around these lovely little towns was a nice and gentle ride. Clairvaux, Valady, St.Christophe, Marcillac. Stop in Clairvaux for a pastry or at the vineyard's shop to taste some of their wines. The shop owner is lovely, and speaks a wee bit of English. Also, to the left about halfway are roads leading into the vineyards. In the fall, they offer a nice hike to the top - and if you are lucky, and they are picking grapes - they'll offer a nice bunch to you!
A town so small you dare not wink while driving, but near many of the Aveyron region's lovely sites, and thus a great place to venture out from. I stayed in a lovely old stone chateau near Valady for a month doing some restoration work in exchange for food & lodging. See www.helpx.net
In the late afternoons, evenings and weekends - I was free to explore the region.
Fondest memory: The beautiful view out of my bedroom window and the warm and fun friendships I developed during my time volunteering here.
