An amazing work of art-- The Cyclops-- was a joint venture among a number of artists. The work was started in 1969 by Swiss sculptor Jean Tinguely. Over ten years, he invited other artists to assist him, and he was able to enlist César, Daniel Spoerri, Arman, Jean-Pierre Raynaud, Eva Aeppli, Bernhard Luginbühl, Jesus Raphael Soto, Larry Rivers, Seppi Imhof, Rico Weber, Philippe Bouveret, Pierre Marie Lejeune, and Niki de Saint Phalle.

The work sits in the woods, and you walk through the sculpture.

The Cyclops is open from May to October. See the web site for directions and additional info.

48 massive oak pillars, resting on stone bases, support Milly La Foret's market structure.

The building, although classified as a national monument, continues to serve the needs of the town, hosting a market every Thursday afternoon.

Milly's Massive Market: Magnificent!

The most striking feature of Milly La Foret is its huge marketplace, built In 1479. Thanks to a special grant from King Louis XI, Admiral de Graville, Lord of Milly, received the right to build the Market and to hold within it three fairs per year as well as a market each week. The Market became a classified Historic building in 1923.
