Le Brussel's Cafe
We take our diner outside. With the view on the amazing Grand Place.
The meat was delicious, the server was very funny; the wine was good and we paid a tinny price.
Favorite Dish:
The grilled rum steak (8.5 €) or the pave (nice peace of steak = 12.60 €)
We like also the desserts chocolate mousse on 4.2 € crème brulée 5.1€ or Dame Blanche Ice cream on 5.8 €
A Belgian café in France hoes combined the qualities of the two countries.
The prices where very correct: a Faux-fillet was 11€ and fantastic with pepper sauce French fries and the ice creams dessert are 5 € all.
Also the beers are not so expensive for France (Leffe= 3.2€)
For 1/2 litter Bordeaux wine was the price 6.5 €
One thing negatives in this "Brasserie " was the tiny place we have for diner on a little table for two men.
Favorite Dish:
the faux-filet taste deliciously and the "omelet" was plentiful with any bacon in it. (7.8€)
Cafe de l'Abbaye
We take only our picnic on the pavement.
But for eating little snacks you have great choise. You best reserved.
And for drinking, no problem: they have a good choise Belgian bier and also some local : Chti or Goudale. (but those are not cheep)
Favorite Dish:
They are very friendly and helpful. There is also any tourist documents who's can you help discover the country.
It is a little cafe in Place des Heros. During summer, you can sit along the aisle and sip a cup of coffee with a nicely decorated chocolate dessert. Every dessert is delicately decorated and you can see the effort put in to satisfy the eyes and tongue. I cant resist the chocolates :P They are closed on mondays.
Favorite Dish:
I like every cakes especially those who caramel coating. Their pralines are also very smooth and rich.
