Favorite thing: We made a day trip to Lille in 2004 when it was the cultural capital of Europe. I was surprised how lovely this city is. It's not too big, so you can see most of the important buildings during one day. I especially liked the old city "Vieux Lille". Most of the houses in this part of the city were built in typical Flemish or French style and are lovely decorated. A real joy for the eye. I had a great time walking around here.
