Take as little luggage with you as possible. This is a general tip for any time you are travelling to, or within, Europe. The less amount of bags you take, the less you'll have to haul around the train and metro stations.
Bring clothes for rainy weather in the fall and spring. Lille can be quite cold so make sure you bring a warm jacket and umbrella. The summer months are generally warmer and more pleasant so you can get off wearing t-shirts and skirts, or slacks, etc.
The local pharmacies have everything you'd need in a medical situation.
Film is not too expensive - to buy or to develop- I wouldn't worry about it too much. Leave a Comment

Sometimes, one has to buy ordinary things or food. Auchan is a good place to do so. There is one in Englos, but you need a car unless you are patient and wait for the slow and infrequent bus. The V2 Auchan in Villenueve d'Ascq in on the metro line (station Hotel de Ville on the yellow line). There is also a large supermarket on the red line across the street from the St. Philibert Hospital (station St. Philibert on the red line). Leave a Comment
