It is a famous Patisserie and chocolate shop, with a quaint tea room at the back, which is just as you imagine a french tea room should be!
We couldn't resist stopping here for a pot of tea and an eclair - delicious! After a delicious meal what better way to end the evening, but with a couple of scoops of creamy Haagen-Daz!!
We stopped off at the Haagen-Daz cafe for a coffee and some ice cream.

Alternatively, take a seat inside or out and enjoy an 8 course Brunch, or just a coffee and naughty treat.

It had plenty of outdoor seating, was busy, and the food looked good.
It was also a great place to do some people watching!
We had pizza, which had a good thin crust and generous toppings. Not the best ever pizza, but enjoyable.
Seeing as we were having pizza, a bottle of Chianti seemed the natural accompaniment!!  feast at Aux Moules by sue_stone
It was a balmy evening, so alfresco dining was a must, and we came across a really busy restaurant - Aux Moules.
They managed to squeeze us in, at one of the outdoor tables, and with a Leffe beer in hand, we sat back and enjoyed.
We ate - of course - moules & frites!
A huge casserole pot full of delicious mussels and tasty chips. And what better to wash it all down with but a pint or two of beer.

It is a centrally located Bistro, in Lille's main square, Place General de Gaulle.
There is seating out in the square, and two levels of seating inside. When we arrived the weather was looking ominous, so we chose to sit inside the cosy restaurant.
Service was friendly and food tasty.
We had Steak Frites and also a local specialty - a kind of beef stew - delicious!
Also managed to squeeze in an excellent Creme Brulee.

We were looking for somewhere that caters for vegetarians but wasn't just crepes or pizza.
La Robes des Champs fitted the bill perfectly. A very unusual menu of potato based dishes, mainly baked potatoes, fondus and salads. House wine was over priced, but food very reasonable. In eurotime after 2002 it should be about 8-13 euro. It is 150 from the Gare Lille. Flanders but you feel like in a small provincial village restaurant. cosey and homey. Portions are huge. Good and filling salads, couscous, escalope de veau, filet Normandie etc.
Clientele are some tourists, neighbourhood people and businessman or workers for trademarkets.
