The cathedral inside
The interior is a lot more impressive than the exterior one.
After being enter, you return: the view is spectacular. What appeared exterior one a dull gray facade is transformed to the interior in a true curtain translucently in marble!
The sun game offers yellow and ocher colors . The rosary of 7M of diameter is a work of Ladislas Kijno and represents the resurrection ¨

L'intérieur est beaucoup plus impressionnant que l'extérieur.
Après être entrez, retournez-vous: la vue est spectaculaire. Ce qui paraissait de l'extérieur une terne façade grise c'est transformé à l'intérieur en un véritable rideau translucide en marbre !
Le jeu du soleil offre des couleurs jaunes ocres ; La rosace de 7m de diamètre est une oeuvre de Ladislas Kijno et représente la résurrection.

Cathedral Notre-Dame-de-la-Treille
The construction dates back to 1854. It is situated exactly to the location of the former castle, city heart. This was not without problems: the works were stopped more then one time: money lacked. The achievement dates back to 1999.

Ce ne fut pas sans problèmes: les travaux furent arrêtés plus d'une fois: l'argent manquait.

The interesting fact is that the facade has very modern style and is different from heavy-stone styled of the other parts of the cathedral. The building works completed in 1999 by Carlier architect. On the picture you can see the difference in facade I mentioned above.

This is a truly amazing church. The first stone was laid in 1854, work was halted in 1947 and it was finally completed in 1999. For years Lille was famous for having an incomplete neo-Gothic cathedral.
The Rose window above the main doors is lovely and was designed by Kijno.
The doors themselves were designed by holocaust survivor George Jeancios. Outside the church there s a nice piazza.

The cathedral was built in 1854 on the old destroyed fortifications. The chapel and choir were completed in 1867. In 1913 Lille became the seat of bishop but th building works were lasted till 1947.
