Sangatte Things to Do

  • Opal Coast

Because of the white chalk coast at Cap Blanc-Nez, this is called the Opal Coast. Now I didn't get the chance to see this myself because I was on top of it. But it was a reasonably clear day and we could see the other side of the channel where a similar and famous view of Dover and the coast was just visible.

A lovely, very clean, local French restaurant. The restaurant also has a newsagent / tobacconist and a bar within. It is a familly business, and therefore looks after you.

Une belle, très propre, restaurant français local. Le restaurant a aussi un newsagent/tabac et dans un bar. C'est une entreprise familly, et donc semble après vous.

Favorite Dish: The chicken and chips ( le poulet et frittes) is very good, 1/2 a chicken, chips and salad.

  • Cycling

It took us quite a while to cover the mere 14.5 kms from Calais to Sangatte (Cap Blanc-Nez). There was a cycling rally going on which had us detouring the tiny country roads all the time. After a while we were in the middle of it! Driving behind one equipe and another behind us. Oops!

    CAP BLANC-NEZ

by ATLC Written Jun 10, 2005

    3 out of 5 starsHelpfulness

Enjoying the sights at Cap Blanc-Nez is something you won't be doing alone. It's windy, a bit cold and very very busy. So if you want to get there, it may take you a little walk, slightly uphill.
