There are 2 rows of columns in the crypt leading to an altar. It is groin vaulted and bult with multicolored stones. It obviously provides fine support for the church.
The inside reveals a narrow nave with columns of blocks of sandstone and flint with a flat wood-beamed ceiling. The lateral view discloses dark aisles with small windows, overhung by a bright windowed clerestory. There are faint 12C frescos on the walls and arches of the barel-vaulted transepts. (Noak and the Ark may be barely visible).
The outside of the Romanesque church (built just after 1000AD) is very simple but it has a Norman tower with columned Romanesque windows. One eneters via the south door into a typical cruciform hall .
