Jard-sur-Mer Things to Do

Jard sur Mer is a small vilage on the West coast of the Vendee, France.
It is very family friendly and has a nice relaxed atmosphere. It is not the place to visit for clubs (there are none) whilst restuaraunts etc close quite early so 'nightlife' is very quiet.
the beach is clean and good for swimming whilst the ittle harbour is attractive. Jard Sur Mer has a small street which bustles with shops for parts of the afternoon and again early in the evening and a very good market visits each week.
One item of interest nearby is the castle at St Talmont de Hilaire which provides a god value and informative view of a medieval castle, which was actually built by the English.
There is an extensive motor museum nearby for those who ae interested (full of old cars, particularly french models), whilst the man made resort of Port Bourgenay just a few miles away is worth an afternnonms visit and is quite pretty.
I would recommend the area for a relaxing break, good weather and a break with no hassle whatsoever.
