Le Capitole: lets do it southwest Italian

by gwened Written Feb 9, 2015

Well we were walking around seeing things, shopping and taking photos and voilà it was lunch time or we missed the meal....so from the Cathedral and before we hit it, we came in front got into a street walk a bit and came upon this modern clean cut restaurant with a southwestern France name as Le Capitole (Toulouse).

Doing pizzas is our thing with the boys and nice red wine so we came in. The seating was done quickly, and we notice one person handles two floors... We needed to ask for the bread and table water service...

The decor is subtle sort of a Napoleonic design but modern lines in black ,Brown and white. the resto is right around the shopping Jacobins as well on a inner street of quaint street ambiance we like.
    We could be back here.

Favorite Dish: We had a bottle of Chinon red Domaine de la Perriére 2013; then pizzas montagnarde, marguerite, Méridionale, Ceasar's Salad, and penne à la Bolognaise. All had Cafe gourmand (expresso with sweets) and one peach melba all came out to 21€ per person. We did not took the menu du jour.

arriving Le Capitole Le Capitole inside 2nd floor across from our table Chinon red 2013 Dom de la Perrire

Les Ducs, rue des Ponts Neufs, Le Mans: Menu at 10€!!

by pfsmalo Updated Mar 30, 2013

One of those places that you go into because you're freezing your n**s off, and then are very glad that you did. There is of course an a la carte menu, but every day there is a menu at 10€. At first I thought yeah ok, for 10€ we're still going to be hungry afterwards. Not a bit of it!!! Hors d'oeuvre, main meal, dessert, a coffee and a glass of wine thrown in, no tax, no tip, no nothing.. We were very pleasantly surprised, also by the quality of the food.
To start with there was a generous helping of salad with hot goats cheese on toast over it.
Main dish, a galette (whole wheatflour type of pancake) with an airy pastry filled with mushroom bechamel sauce (known as a "Bouchée de la Reine"), white rice and more salad.
Dessert Cream cheese covered in a red fruit sauce
A glass of red and a coffee all included, plus a free smile from the waitress.

Les Cocottes Sarthoises.: Well worth the money...

by pfsmalo Written Jan 20, 2012

    2.5 out of 5 starsHelpfulness

Nicely placed in the centre of the old part of Le Mans, just opposite the Town Hall and 5 minutes from the cathedral, I really enjoyed my meal here. Fortunately we had reserved as it was quite full, including the outside terrace. Waiters and waitresses were always smiling and polite, going out of their way to be nice with the grandchildren (never easy to keep 3 year olds at a table). Different formulas starting at 10€90 upwards.

Favorite Dish: I had the "Boeuf Bourguignon" in a bordeaux sauce = delicious.
