Maison Veuve Amiot: Sparkling Wine Closure

Did the half hour tour of the winery at Veuve Amiot followed by a tasting of four sparkling wines. Great value at zero euro. Gratis. Free. We purchased champagne flutes etched with the Veuve Amiot brand. Most useful item purchased was a sparkling wine bottle sealer which has given great service since it was procured. It works remarkably well and keeps a half consumed bottle in the fridge overnight without it losing any of its fizz. The stopper goes with me where ever I travel.So good is this little device, I'm planning to visit Maison Amiot on my next trip to France just to buy a couple more.

Visiting a market in France is a great pleasure. Especially if it concerns food. Local cheeses, vegetables, livestock, dried sausages and often also ready-to-eat meals.The link below gives an overview of market days in the Loire valley. You're lucky if you are renting a self-supporting accommodation, so that you can take all that lovely food home and cook it, or eat it. If you're in a hotel, then you'll have to resort to picnics. Don't forget your pocket knife!My photos of the Saturday market in Saumur have not concentrated on any particular product. However, I saw plenty of food stalls, as well as many other items. Not necessarily cheap. Some local cheeses could be as expensive as 50 euro per kilo!
