This is another picturesque little village we happened across, looks quite a wealthy little place, didn't see any deralict places here. With Vieux Moulin being only a a few km south east of Compiegne I imagine it is a commuter area.
If your passing, its worth a wander around the quiet streets, the church, built in 1860 was quite an unusual style and interesting to see. Visit the Auberge mentioned in my restaurant tips too.
Vieux Moulin translates as old mill, we could not find it though!
All the way from the Chateau in Compiegne there is clearing through the forest to Beau Monts (Beautiful Mountain). It is possibe to walk all the way. From the top are wonderful views of the surrounding area. This is called to 5km walk!
The Forest of Compiegne for centuries was the hunting ground for French Royalty. If we were up and about early enough we always saw some deer here.
We had a map from the tourist information office and it had a town trail that we followed. It led us to this lovely park that we hadn't seen before following this trail!
