Saint-Quentin Things to Do

  • by KituAdventures Written Jan 7, 2005

The Hotel de Ville is the last surviving original edifice on the grand Place, which was bombed out in WWI. Architectually, it ranks as a good enough example of the Gothis style that it once appeared on a Frank note (I forget which one), which was one of St Quentin's rare forays into the headlines!

St Quentin's Basilique looks somewhat shabby from the outside, but inside its quite pretty, and was used as the location for the French film "La Reine Margot".

Saint-Quentin Warnings and Dangers

St Quentin is a virtual labarynth of one way and no turn streets, making driving a bloody trial. Don't bother, the place is small enough that you can walk from place to place most easily.
