Once you have found the village and climbed the hill to see the church, there's a car park at the top, you can turn your attention to the Lanterne Des Morts. At the front is a small opening and inside are stairs that will take you almost to the top, they aren't very wide so you will not be able to pass anyone, it's one at a time folks and sideways if you are a wide person. Be careful because the stairs are uneven, at the top is a fine view of the church and the surrounding countryside, for me this meant a nice view of my old Triumph resting under a wild plum tree.
