Le Fromager: The Best Cheese Shop in the World!

    by Malcolm_Ostermeyer Written Jun 18, 2008

    2.5 out of 5 starsHelpfulness

A lovely cheese shop selling over 150 varieties of cheese. At lunchtime they do "mixed cheese plates" - about five varieties of cheese with bread and salad, washed down by a glass of wine. The staff are incredibly helpful and knowledgeable about their wares - which are delicious!

Favorite Dish: Euro 11 Cheese plate - lovey strong unusual cheeses.

  • Les Copains: Port Frejus

    by dj.daz Written Jan 6, 2008

Les copains is a family run restraunt set in port Frejus They also own a fish restraunt next door both restraunts seat about 40 people and both have a wonderfull atmosphere.
Yo is the name of the main waiter who learned to speak english via video games and has a charismatic personality nothing is too much trouble.
Upon arrival normaly you will be offered a free aperatiff courtesy of Yo.

The Menu is simple with a good choice, There are Three set menu's staring at 14 euro's - 21 euro's 14 euro's being 3 courses wow. I love Salad the nicoise here you will get a 14" plate filled with tuna lettuce onion sweetcorn pickled peppers tomotoes assparagous cucmber etc all fresh with there own salad dressing. Then choose from meats to fish again the portions are generous i would recomend any of the dishes especialy the gambas and Baracuda Steak / and their lamb is out of this world. Also to mention if there is nothing you fancy on the normal menu Yo will give you a Menu from the Fish restraunt and you can order from one or both menu's.
    Dessert
    frsh fruit / ice cream / gateau's / cheese / coffee
and all this for under a tenner.

    Favorite Dish: The Salad Nicoise
Excellent value for money this staret comes on a 14" plate filled to the brim with fresh local produce
    a meal in itself.
over the years ive tried lots of local food but i have found this restraunt to be the best and to all the freinds and people i have sent threr have totaly raved about the place and go their at least twice a week to eat out.

Les Micocouliers: A Taste of PC (Provence/Cote d'Azur, that is)

Being able to dine outside means nearly everything to me. That means my dog can come along, and if there's a nice view, all the better. Les Micocouliers has this as it's situated in the square across from the cathedral and the food was fresh and yummy. Luckily, it was warm too :-)

Favorite Dish: There were 4 of us plus my dog all together and everyone enjoyed their meals. (steak frites, venison, pate appetizers) I had fresh pasta with spices from the region and a crispy salad. for dessert, a mouth watering tarte aux poires a la frangiapane. DELICIOUS.

    Cave Blanche: Typically French

    by Harry_Cobeans Updated Mar 14, 2007

Great food at a good price. Very child friendly despite the formal appearance. Look out for the Minor Bird who is bi-lingual and great fun for the kids.
