I know most people think it's graffiti, but I really liked what I saw so I took a pic!

Marseille has a great culture for stencil and other various form of interesting graffiti art. Walking it's streets curious and procusious I found many interesting works from the anonomous artists.
Aix En Provence is a short train ride away from Marseille. We stayed here for half of the week in the Hotel Bleu Marine which was just a short bus ride from the centre and not too expensive.
Visit Marseille around Christmas time. The weather is still decent, and there aren't tourists everywhere. Also, the city gets dressed up quite nicely, with lights covering the main streets.

Around the base of the outer wall of Fort St Jean you'll find games of Petanque going on and if you're really lucky you might even get a game.
