Restaurant Le Corbusier is for those that are interested in the achievements of the great architect Le Corbusier as it is standing at the third level of La cité Radieuse, the building that he designed in Marseille. The food is not outstanding but does not deserve any critics neither. Anyway, visitors are usually here more for the outstanding architecture of Le Corbusier than for an outstanding food. An excellent little restaurant just next to the Vieux Port. The menu is varied with a good selection of salades as well as more traditional hot dishes. If the weather is good, then you should take advantage of the terrace, the perfect place to enjoy a glass of Pastis.
the salads were all excellent, just what you need on a hot summers day. Leave a Comment

by VERO13 Here is a nice and safe place to eat - not too far from the Vieux Port (near the Palais de Justice). Friendly and cheap. The staff is well-travelled too - always ready to help! http://eatingmarseille.canalblog.com/

This restaurant is a bit off the beaten track, but well-worth the effort of finding. You`ll probably be greeted by the amiable chef-proprietor, Christophe Negrel. I chose a Fricassé de Morue (fricaseed cod, tomatos and potatos in garlic à la nouvelle cuisine). My friends chose Poèle Champignons et Foie Gras (compote of mushrooms and foie gras) and Filet de Daurade à la plancha ( dorado fillet). My cod was superb: just the right amount of garlic and salt, and my friends were very pleased with their choices. We drank a white Chablis which was okay. The wine list looked good; a bit let down by the coffee, though. Not the best. The bill for three came to 107 euros, 49.50 of which was wine. Recommended. We came here to have a bite before going to a concert at Le Moulin. We walked a bit on Boulevard Alphonse Daudet, but along the way, we only found a pub (full of drunks), a kebab place and one pizza parlor (both places looked a bit shady to us). We were almost giving it up, when we spotted this snack bar called "Lollipops". It looked clean, so we decided to give it a try. It's a tiny place with a few tables. The service was friendly. On the menu, they had pizzas, crepes (salty or sweet), pasta, salads, desserts. We ordered 2 small pizzas (thin). They were good, but one was big enough for two (at least for us). Mozzarella pizza (small): 7 Euros Cheese pizza (small): 6 Euros Can of Coca-Cola: 2 Euros Tap water: Free Note: Luckily we noticed the chef's kippa before making our orders, so no pork meat (ham, bacon) in their menu. Does your favorite fast food have a view like this by aemilys It's just ordinary fast food (burgers and etc.) for those on a budget. For me it's fun because I'm from the US and I get fast food cravings. If you do as well check this place out.

Les Arcenaulx is a restaurant situated in a small complex of shops (books and gifts) which are all connected. The restaurant itself is fairly grand but it falls on the right side of pretentious: it`s not what I would call "snobby" at all. But don`t get me wrong. By no means is this a cheap restaurant. In fact it`s more expensive than average, but the old adage is "you pay for what you get", and this is certainly true in Les Arcenaulx`s case. We were a party of 5, and we started off with a glass of champagne each which was on the house. Nice start. We decided to skip the entrées and went straight for main courses: Tournedos Rossini, Steak Tartare, and Filet St. Pierre. The beef was superb, as was the fish. We drank a red: Chateau Pibarnon, which was on the pricy side at 55 euros the bottle, but which was also superb. The bill for 5 came to 266.45 euros, 89.45 of which was drinks. Good coffee too. Recommended. "P&K" stands for Paule and Kopa, who are the two friendly hands-on owners. Ive eaten here a couple of times before, and this time we ordered a Pizza Royale to share as hors d`oeuvre, between three. Gorgeous, especially with the "Bandosi" (chilli oil). They also do a "Supions" hors d`oeuvre (chopped squid) which I`ve had before which is good. As main courses we chose liver and a "Pavé à deux" (steak for two). I shared the steak and it duly arrived cooked "blue" just as we had ordered. The steak comes with pommes frites or a courgette gratin. Between us we had both. The wine list is okay and we chose a red.. Sainte Marie, which was très buvable, as they say. The bill for three came to 113 euros, 32 of which was wine. Recommended. Firstly, I didn't expect much from a cafeteria in a church grounds, but I was pleasantly surprised. As it was Pentecost Sunday the menus were special. Let me just tell you that all the staff here are nuns, but they don't wear the full outfits. They have their hair all cut short and usually wear simple outfits from their native countries ( that could have been for Pentecost Sunday only, have no idea).
My friend and I had the special Pentecost Sunday menu for 15 EUROS. Entrée/ Starter: Plat principal / Main course: Dessert: Leave a Comment Theme: FrenchPrice: US$21-30 » Currency ConverterComparison: about averageAddress: Eglise Notre Dame de la gardeDirections: Ask for the cafeteria at reception.
