Favorite Dish: The Bruschetta is their specialty and rightly so, it is just perfect. All sorts of topping choice on the lightest of light bread like french toast only lighter still.
Ever had a hankering for Lychee granita (ice)? Or passion fruit?
This man has them all. In the heat and humidity of a hot summers day, a chilled ice granita takes a lot of beating

Nice contemporary ambience with the a large part of the restaurant tented seating outside but with with plastic see through tents that helped keep out the cold - tall standing gas heaters for outdoors heating was provided.
Nice service, attitude of professionalism, nice tiny touches with the table setting and service.
Excellent Nicoise salad - I thought that was probably my last chance to have Nicoise salad in Nice - though an hour or 2 away from Nice it was still really Nice - after having Nicoise so often in Morocco and loving them there it was interesting to finally have one where it was actually named after!
9 euro for a moderate size salad and 1.50 euro for an excellent coffee was not bad for promenade dining. Good balsamic dressing was provided also.
I had a delicious meal in a small restaurant in the old town - Restaurant paradiso. it is owned and run by itaioans so the food is authentic and excellent. The restaurant doubles itself as a pizzeria, though pizzas are actually prepared in the take-away next door - awhich may be run by the same family.
Favorite Dish: Though the menu was quite interesting, I chose a dish from the daily specials - I had homemade sword-fish ravioli in a tomato and scallops sauce (see picture) which were really excelent and fresh.
My girlfriend and I ate at La Cigale patisserie during a visit to Menton from Nice in May 2009.
We were keen to try the town’s famous lemon tarts and our guidebook recommended La Cigale as the best place to do so.
This upmarket patisserie and chocolatiere is located on Avenue Carnot, a road which runs parallel to and inland from the seafront Promenade du Soleil.
We went inside the shop to order, and were tempted by the vast array of cakes, pastries and chocolates. However, we resisted the various sweet treats and ordered a couple of lemon tarts and a couple of glasses of lemon flavoured sirop (a diluted syrup drink popular in France).
We sat at an outdoor table on the sidewalk, beneath the shade of a tree. The waitress brought our lemon tarts and drinks, and it became apparent that she had misunderstood our order and brought us lemon tea rather than lemon sirop. We didn’t bother to correct her.
Lemon tarts - Cost: 3.50 Euros each
Lovely lemon tarts with a biscuit base, a lemon curd filling and a topping of soft meringue.
They were certainly very nice, but I can’t help but feel that 3.50 Euros per tart is a bit excessive given their tiny size.
Lemon tea - Cost: 2 Euros
We each received a cup with a lemon tea teabag in, accompanied by a pot of hot water and a plate with four slices of lemon. There was enough for a couple of cups of tea each.

Above average Cafe/coffee shop, quality is the theme here, from the interior to the excellent food and friendly service.
Sit inside, or outside on the busy, noisy street.

From Monte Carlo, it is a short 20-minute train ride to Menton. So one day I decided to take a day trip there. After picking up some brochures from the tourist office, I started to scout for a place to have lunch. :o)) I looked and looked, and I found the restaurant in this hotel. It is right on the beach, with a beautiful garden. The menu is provencal. I had a green salad with sauteed scallops to start., and filet of steak to follow. Mmmm, it was so good. Felt a little out of place here though, since most patrons are in their 70s! No wonder they call Menton the Ft. Lauderdale of France.
It's a nice restaurant in the pedestrian area, not far from the Town Hall. You can have a normal meal or you can just sit to taste a sweet or saulty crèpe, a sandwich ord to drink something fresh
Favorite Dish: Poissons : paëlla aux fruits de mer,
bouillabaisse, plateau de coquillages
I chose restaurant L'Occitan for its name, hoping to find some local delicacies... and because it was full of local people. I did not see anything special on the menu, but everything seemed promising so I decided to give it a go.
Favorite Dish: I had a delicious platter (assiette) with two different types of foie gras, smoked salmon, scallops, some salad and toasted bread. It was simple and yummy...
Deliscious tapas (Spanish dishes) on a nice location along the shoppingstreets. Always busy with people walking by, while you are enjoying a good dinner and look around to the people that pass by.
La Coupole is a friendly Italian restaurant that is situated alongside the city park.
Favorite Dish: La Coupole Special, the kitchen's speciality.
Unpretentious but the food is wonderful and not expensive. Usually there are 2 choices for the daily menu.
Favorite Dish: Everything is good. You need to choose only what you want. You will not be disappointed.
You are made to feel at home here. The food is very good, and I recommend the fish of the day.
