Marché Couvert: those delicious local cheeses

    by call_me_rhia Updated Nov 15, 2008

    2.5 out of 5 starsHelpfulness

On my last day in Menton I stopped at the Marché Couvert - a Covered Market inside an old building with a decorated Belle Époque facade... where meats, cheese, fish and vegetables are sold. Come in the morning, as the market is open daily from 7 AM to 1 PM only.

What to buy: Buy some cheese... there are plenty of delicious cheeses to choose from, especially goat cheese. I bought a great one wrapped in chestnut tree leaves. I don't remember the name but it was very tasty.

    What to pay: very little
