  • Popular bar where you can also have dinner, hamburgers that kind of stuff, and live music at the back. The crowd is young an lots of tourists in the summer. The evening often ends up by people dancing on the tables. The atmosphere is relaxed.

    Cours Saleya and Vieux Nice in general are even more fantastic at night than they are during the day. Before midnight there is an arts and crafts market where you can get lovely authentic souvenirs without even a hint of tack! Later on, the bars get busy as they stay open much later than places like Wayne's. I'd recommend getting a drink from THOR (another English bar) if only so you can sit outside in the square and take in the balmy night air and the buzzing atmosphere. There are also plenty of other bars and clubs around the area, being OXFORD, LA TRAPPA, L'ESCALIER to name but a few. Basically just take your pick and HAVE FUN!!!

    Anything Smart/Casual. N.B. If you're a cap fan there are a few places where they won't let you in unless you take it off while you're in there!

    By November, many of the clubs are closed for the season. Wayne's, however, is a pub/live music venue that is popular with both locals and tourists. Although the 'hot club of the moment' can change at a moment's notice, Wayne's is a good place to ask the locals what's on for the night. For me, one drink at Wayne's turned into several and some saroq dancing with an Aussie while a swing band was playing.
    Wayne's has a laid back, friendly pub-like atmosphere.

    Anything goes, but for best results, try snappy casual.

    Great little Jazz Club that our we were
    taken to by a VT'er Lluis who lives in Nice.
    Seems to be a locals club, as it was not
    that big and was not in the tourist area.
    NOTE:
    The only problem we had, we were short
    changed, so If you a tourist, count your
    change when you get it ....

    Casual dress, nothing fancy required. When we went, there was a 4 piece
    girl group performing, and the funny part was, they live only about 90 miles
    from us here in the states, they are touring France for 6 months ....

    When entertainment performs, there is a 5 Euro cover charge, but it
    is well worth it. (about 6 USD)

    I cant remember how many small pubs I visited in Nice! Many of them had live bands that were playing every night! Most of them are in the Old Town so you will pass in front of them sooner or later! :) Just choose the kind of music you like...

    Some of them:
    -Bar des Oiseaux (this is my favorite, more expensive than others but better bands, sometimes jazz, flamenco etc. Good food too!)
    -Waynes (nice american food, cool live bands but I didnt like the stuff at the door)
    -Oxford (small pub full of French that sing along all the french songs! Packed with students at saturdays)
    -Thor (good offers in some drinks every night, live music)
    -Jonnys Wine Bar
    -O'Neils
    -MacMahons
    -Tapas
    -Blue Whale (next to Oxford)
    -Ghost
    -Saramonga (fancy club)
    -Les Trois Diables
    -Grand Eskurial (Decent Nightclub, dance music)

    You can find tickets for major concerts at FNAC, (Avenue Jean Medecin)

  • Lots of dancing in this Salsa bar. You can either have dinner here (which is half half) and/or just a drink and/or dance on the dancefloor. The place is quite big but always very full. The food is quite expensive. Crowd is >25 yrs

  • Great pubs there but the beer glasses are too big and get me too drunk to remember where exactly they were. I do know there are a lot of good places about a 10 minute walk from the restaurant I said in towards the centre of Nice amongst the large cafe strip.

    Neat casual. I was wearing sandals and 3/4 pants and a tight tee and I was fine.
