I was expecting to stroll along the fine, soft sand and gaze at the beautiful blues and aquas of the Mediterranean Sea. Well, when I showed up to see the sunset, I saw that there is no sand. The entire beach is rocks! And not itty-bitty pebbles that you can walk over barefoot. We're talking big old rocks like you'd find in a driveway! Most of them are round or have smooth edges, but they make for a bumpy place to relax. You probably want to buy a beach mat if you plan to sit for a long time. Once you get over the fact it's not your typical beach, it's easy to appreciate that you don't go home with fine sand in everything you own! This is a picture looking up at the castle ('Le Chateau') on the hill. As I took this picture, I was sitting on the beach, looking at salmon-colored homes with bright green and blue shutters, listening to waves gently rake the rocks over each other. Wonderful!
