8 minutes from the north of Pampelonne beach lies the wreck of le Rubis, a world war II submarine that was sunk there in the 50s to be used as sonar target.
It's not a shallow dive: min 35 metres, 42 to the sand.
We dived with Cap Camarat Plongee, a great dive centre, very friendly and convivial. Nicolas will welcome you and ensure you are happy. The centre is basic but clean with a changing room, a shower, rinsing tanks, sofas, free car parking, etc.... Absolutely superb!
The dive was 36 euros (July 2010) and the service provided top notch.

We stopped here on the recommendation of Cap Camarat Plongee, and it was a good tip!
They have a range of wine: red, white, rose and sparkling. We tried 3 roses and opted for the cote de provence at just under 4 euros and the cuvee speciale at 7.5 euros.
Both were excellent and while not the cheapest you can buy, definitely worth the extra couple of euros.
The staff was helpful, smiling and very welcoming. Just remember not to 'test' too much if you are driving!
