With several clubs in the resort, we were expecting some kind of animated nightlife,… well, we tried to go out on Monday, the resort was completely empty!! It was much more animated on Tuesday when there was first a party organized by a national radio (NRJ). We went to one of the clubs, the Lynx. Inside a hotel, that was supposed to be reserved to the hotel residents but nobody told us anything. Open until 1am, we were surprised by the people we found there, almost nobody was above 18 or if they were, that was the parents looking for their teenagers!!
We didn’t stay too long and moved to the next club, le Lemme. The entrance here cost 12€ but you could receive free entrances from the tourism office. Good thing we had them! Even if the place was crowded, it was again quite difficult to find someone above 18… At the end we gave up and come back to the chalet!!

Not too sure if we were there at the wrong time of the week / year (spring holiday) but from my personal experience, Risoul (in January), the other resort on the domain was way more animated!!

some firework shot during the stay...

  • Green Chaud

This is the name given to a cocktail made of hot chocolate and Chartreuse, a local alcohol. Not too bad but I definitely prefer some Cognac or Armagnac in my hot chocolate…However no reason to complain! It was offered on Sunday evening by the tourism office. It was indeed their welcome drink when they presented the activities for the week. This is...

  • Dammeuse

This is the kind of vehicle that is going through the different slopes in the evening or during the night (you can then see their strong lights) to prepare them for us…They are indeed removing the bumps and preparing a nice, slick and easy slope. They are barely going through the black slopes since part of their difficulty is precisely the bumps!

  • Coni, the steepest slopes !!

This is one of the steepest slopes I have ever seen. It is starting from the chine between the Cold de Crevoux (2530m) and the Pic de Chabrieres, the highest point of the skiing domain (2750m).You can see it from the Crevoux chairlift but unless someone is going down, you would hardly think there is a slope there…Not too many people are doing it;...

  • The chairlift

This is the other way to reach the summits. Much more comfortable than a ski-lift, this is also a nice way to chat with other people. When lots of people are queuing up to take the lift, it is polite to always fill in the chair lift to the maximum. If 4 seats are available and 3 of them are already busy, either you take the fourth one (even if you...

  • The Ski lifts

This is the elementary way to climb a slope with your skis… They have completely disappeared from some of the skiing domain (Trois Vallees for example) but are essential in “La Foret Blanche” domain. Not really comfortable and not always easy, I started to appreciate them. Indeed when an area is only available via a difficult ski lift, you’d find...

  • Le Seignon, the heart of the resort....

Even if it is quite big, I haven’t found the resort itself very attractive. They are apparently doing an effort (le Fournet), there are still many big and ugly concrete blocks of flats. There is no real pedestrian way, the only way to go down to the heart of the resort is to walk down the street, along with the cars!!Le Seignon is indeed a...

  • Direct access to the slopes

If you have to choose a resort or an accommodation to go skiing, make sure it is close to the slopes or the ski lifts, this is probably more expensive but way more comfortable. In our case, we simply had to cross the street and we were ready to go skiing…

  • Advanced igloo

Many children are also skiing with their parents. When they are not yet going down the slopes (some of them are really impressive!!), several kinder garden are available for them. This nice ice castle has been built by the monitors. I’ve seen them starting to build it when I was here in January and this is the final result in March!
