La Colombe d’Or: best restaurant in Saint Paul de Vence

by jorgejuansanchez

This is an exclusive place frequented in the past by famous painters such as Picasso, or Marc Chagall (which tomb is in Saint Paul de Vence cemetery), apart from French cinema actors.Prices are expensive, but you will feel the dolce vita atmosphere of the beginning of the XX century, and can enjoy the frescoes painted in the walls by the artists. any dish is delicious

La Marsa (Aix en Provence): Tunisian food

by jorgejuansanchez

If you happen to be in Aix en Provence visiting Paul Cézanne paintings and his museum or atelier, and become hungry, then go the pedestrian street Rue de la Verrerie where you will find dozens of excellent restaurants. If you like exotic dishes try La Marsa for Tunisians specialities, such as couscous and sweets made with honey. They serve Moroccan wine and excellent tea. I liked the couscous with meat and the sweets with tea

A sausage trolley downtown: Food from a street vendor is still food

by b1bob

This isn't a restaurant per se, but trolleys all around town sold all kinds of good food. The sausages from a trolley were better than some sit-down restaurants at which I paid more for my food. This is some of the best food I've ever had. The service was prompt and the trolley was parked in the scenic square near the cathedral, so the ambience was great. This sausage trolley earns top marks. The barbecued sausages were great! They were better than anything I bought from a trolley and better than anything from many conventional restaurants.

Hotel L'Atlantic: Seafood and sea breezes

by tissie

We discovered the Hotel L'Atlantic in Wimereux when our favourite, the Hotel du Centre, was sadly closed!L'Atlantic is on the promenade with great views of the sea and if the weather is fine you can sit outside. There is lots of seafood on the menu and a good range of other things. For me when in France it's always the sea food and most especially the moules.

Hotel Du Centre: Eat with the locals

by tissie

The Hotel Du Centre is a very welcoming, family run hotel & restaurant in, as the name suggests, the centre of the town of Wimereux. The menu changes daily and is good, simple French fare, you will find a lot of locals eating here, it's not a tourist restaurant. The plat d'jour of three courses is from about £12. Children are welcomed, and treated like little adults (although they can have a plate of fries if their nerve fails them). You must have the moules - fresh, tasty and French and the creme brulee is delicious.

(various): Tartiflette

by Kate-Me

Tartiflette is a specialty French potato dish which originated in Annecy .....the special ingredient is Roblochon cheese (almost impossible to find in Australia, but you can use Raclette on the top instead). It's a fairly simple dish, but hearty, containing potatoes, bacon, onion, cheese and cream - but very delicious !

LA MAISON BLEU: DINING IN HONFLEUR

by LoriPori

While in Honfleur we stopped at LA MAISON BLEU to have dinner. We sat outside in the patio area which was fun and we could watch the action on the streets. Our dinner (we ordered the chicken dinner) was good when we finally got it. I suppose we'll have to be a little patient when we are in France because nobody rushes there.

LE MASCARET: COZY RESTAURANT IN COURTIELS

by LoriPori

On our way to Mont St. Michel, we stopped in Courtiels at this quaint Bar *Brasserie* Tabac named LE MASCARET. We all had to have our afternoon coffee. It was a very warm, cozy place with the friendly owner tending the bar.

Café Opera: Great food in the latin district

by Viking_Girl

We had a really great dinner during our last evening in Paris. This is one of the best places and we wish we'd found it sooner. The food was traditional french with some italian influence. Some interesting additions as well. My husband had chilli sorbet with his dish. The place was packed but I highly recommend it. The service was great and I liked the music. The place goes around almost in a circle, with windows all around. In the front it looks more like a bar/coffee place but in the back it turns into this gorgeous art neuvo, romantic place. I really liked the music they were playing too, some jazzy funky stuff.

Restaurant La Voute: Lyonnais dining

by 807Wheaton

We found the location of Chez Lea, La Voute quite nice for an evening dinner in Lyon.We were on a tour so we were not concerned with transportation or parking. We were served Veal with boiled potatoes and spinach for our entre. and I'm not sure how it was prepared, but it was not real tender (?) but tasted fine. Our large salad was presented beautifully with crinkly leaf lettuce, (no iceburg here) tomatoes and eggs. For dessert we had a very nice chocolate cake with coffee. The picture is from the postcard that was at each place setting; a nice touch. We sat upstairs in a small room. The chocolate cake was definitely the best part of the meal.
