I didn't eat at the restaurants, but instead went to the Open Market early in the day, about 7 A.M. and picked up a small whole chicken and a baget. That kept me going for the whole day. Then when I began traveling in the trains I picked up more food. Delicious rotissery chicken and beautiful bakery baked bagets.
Tucked in the corner of Cap du Place at the end of the old town marketplace is this utterly charming restaurant with great food and reasonable prices. There is an outdoor terrace (heated for cool nights). The inside is decorated in Provencal style, perfect for a romantic dinner.The service was attentive and friendly. The duck was unbelievable. The mussel appetizer was so good that we were practically licking the plate for the rest of the sauce.
If your desperate for fast food because your low on cash, counld be bothered waiting for food ,etc, then there is anothe roption than Mcdonalds. Its "Quick". Its a fast food chain which in my opinion sells authentic burgers. Well, at least they dont leave you with that really bloated stomach and have an artificial taste. I ate here all the time and its really popular in France and other parts of europe for that matter. It tastes better and its less fattening and by far the best tasting burgers in France.
Like Anywhere else in the world there are McDonalds in France. But there probabaly no other country that has a Jose Bove. Bove spent three weeks in jail after he led activists in the destruction of - guess what - a branch of McDonalds. For Bove, the golden arches represent the industrialisation of all food production, the worst of "malbouffe - bad food". How true. But in saying this who isnt guilty of getting the odd cheeseburger every now and then,hey its cheap and after you see some of the prices in the restuarants your gonna wanna go to the golden arches any day.
Trattoria Italiana is a nice and good Italian restaurant, also placed in the Cartier St.Michele, you could have great atmosphere and good Italian food, prices are moderated too fortunately :-D PastaPisa
We went with Fiona to this cafe to stop and have coffee and to talk, so it was so nice, and we talked really a lot there without the feeling that the weiters were willing to kick us out, LOLas in Paris it could be possible that in a busy day weiters could bring the bill to put it in your table in a rude way, to show you that it is time to leave or to have another drink LOL
Fois Gras is also one very typical and special food where you can't have it in its real taste but in France!The green peace was protesting against this dish for a while, and people where upset, that it could disappear one day, as the special way they kill the Canard to make this food is very original!but the taste is good, and it is a season food, mostly to be during Christmas!
What could be more famous than the French Croissant, MMMMMMtrust me, no better delicous breakfast a person can have than Croissant with coffee, rather cappuccino :-Dit is in every French cafe in Paris, please don't miss it!
Le Cedre is a wonderful restaurant for Middle East food in Paris, we went with Fiona *parsix* and had a great lunch there, the guys who works there where so generous and showed a real hospitality soul and offered spice tea and some Baklawa for free to us after the lunch, but sure they knew I am Syrian and half Lebanese LOL Shawerma
You're (not really) eating with famous people, there are item's from movies shown and there are previews of movies. Advisable is to make reservations, or else you might be waiting for a very long time! The first thing on the menu, baby steak with beans and french fries, MMMMMM!! Very good.
