cheese ;-)

one of the speciality of the region is cheese so if you like it try:
"la raclette" which is a melted cheese on new potatoes acompanied of saucisson, ham and salad.
"la fondue savoyarde" which 4 or 5 different kind of Comte cheese and white wine ( it eaten using some small fairly dry bread peaces that you put on a fork and use it to get some melting cheese around)
and there is also le tartiflette .............so much for the cheese lover.....................

The French are very friendly here and are happy to help you out. But most of the times you don't have to ask for the way, because signs are everywhere.
Keep in mind that shops can be closed between 11 am and 3 pm.

Crepes with calvados

There are several great creperies in Annecy, and you must have to taste the crepes with calvados. This is a pancake dessert which is set on fire just before serving.
