Annecy is only 30 miles south of Geneva and a beautiful drive I'm told.
We took the TGV from Paris (Gare de Lyon) with a change of trains in Lyon. It took about 4 hours (370 miles). There was fantastic scenery all the way from Paris and even more so when we headed toward Annecy and the Alps.
A one-way first-class ticket from Paris to Annecy this year is 102.30 Euros.

During our trip to Annecy, we took a taxi tour of the lake and city!
It was wonderful, we saw it all, went on top of Col de la Forclaz to admire the whole lake, we enjoyed our english speaking driver. It was also nice to talk with a local person.
The cost was around 60 euros for 3 hours, the name of the taxi is Taxi Massingy 06 60 91 01 01 in case you want to try the same one!
Enjoy this beautiful area!

Getting to Annecy from the UK was a real drag in our pre-flying days. It meant a rail journey of almost 24 hours, and involved a 4 hour wait at Lyon station, from about 2 in the morning until 6 in the morning. It was fun watching the rats run around on the rail tracks!
