Many people say that the food here is one of the best around here. Its true. I tried lunch and dinner several times when I was living in this town. The local food is excellent. Please do not miss it when you come to this French or when you want to eat at a typical French food when you are in Geneva.
Favorite Dish: Meat and fish dish. Try speciality of the day. They have an excellent collection of French wine.
Its a cheaper restaurant than the neighbor restaurant "Hotel de France" but it has excellent local dishes. The "Truite" means "trout".
Favorite Dish: As it is a trout restaurant, try trout dishes. They are so good. Meat dishes also good and their salad is excellent.
Well... here is the menu I enjoyed from my last visit to Le Pirate
Aperitif: Crème de Fruits rouge (a champagne with fruit liqueur)
Petites Mise en Bouche: Huitre en gelée d'eau de mer, Gourmandise d'oursin, Nougat de saumon mi fume. (that'd be a trio of tiny entrees.
Salade de homard, Compote de topinambours
Moelleux de foie gras, capuccino de courges, lait de beafort (a gorgeous tiny coffee cup filled with a pumpkin soup poured over foie gras and with a wee layer of fluffy milk)
Gambas et boudin blanc roti aux châtaignes (prawns... I can't remember much about them as I don't eat prawns)
Granité de mandarine au parfum de Cuba (a mandarin and rum sorbet)
Filet de loup soufflé en duxelle de cepes, creme de truffes (sea bass with mushrooms in a truffle sauce)
Delice du Berger (a wee moon shaped crouton with grilled goats cheese on it)
3 Gourmandises de l'An nouveau (a meringue and icecream swan, sponge tower filled with chocolate mousse and a chocolate and custard tart)
The Chanteclair creates food that is not only delicious but so beautifully presented you want to photograph it!
The ambience is modern and elegant, with each place set with glass plates. For my first visit, each table had a small vase, in which were parmesan lollipops. The trio d'amuse bouche included a shot glass filled with pumpkin soup, with a tiny bit of foie gras in the bottom and a light as a feather froth floating on top.
From there, it just gets prettier and tastier!

Favorite Dish: The Chanteclair does an excellent terrine de Foie gras.
Its a bar and cafe. Its a very friendly place where many local people get together and chat.
Favorite Dish: Coffee and light meal.
