Now, we are running far ahead, 4 numbers away, to get to 58 quai Perrière. We have better to have good walking shoes for such a long hike.
Pizzeria Créperie, this is a long distance connection, Italy and French Brittany. I will have to check if they have pizza with « andouillette de Vire » or pizza spread with « rillettes » and Crêpe Calzone or Crêpe quatro stagione !

Again four numbers and we are 66 quai Perri?re for another "Lane crossing" between Italy and France : we would expect to have "la Fiorentina" while it is translated into French to make " La Florentine. Inside, no surprise, this is actual good Italian cooking !

What a surprise, no three surprises ! The first : another restaurant next door, at the same number, 74 quai Perrière. The second, isn't it finally a French restaurant ? The third is that it does not exist ! It is on the Telephone data base but at the address given, there is nothing but a closed shop !

This is a great place to eat what they call here "fondue" or "raclette" and "tartiflette". A variety of different French cheeses melted to accompany potatoes and different meats. All the cooking is done in front of the clients. You don't leave this place hungry, that's for sure!
Favorite Dish: I would have to say the basic "raclette" dish. Melted cheese served with potatoes and different sorts of slices of ham, bacon, and other meats also served with salad and white wine... I can't get enough of it!

Favorite Dish: FONDUE SAVOYARDE ... a local recipe that blows your head off ! Right here for the recipe :
First of all, prepare a special cauldron called in French 'poelon' by rubbing an onion against its bottom. Then put about 1 lb of French cheese called 'emmental' and half a glass of Kirsch. You need 0.01 lb. of hash (prepared just as the hash yoghurt). The principle of the French fondue savoyarde is always shake the mixture above a middle fire. Then you have to steep some bread pieces into it. Then you just have to ingest the bread pieces, its delicious with a good bottle of white wine.
BON APPETIT !!

Good salads (some with rein deer...), salmon of course. The restaurant is located on a small pedestrian square so it's nice to seat on the terrace in summer!
Favorite Dish: It's the only restaurant of its kind in town.

Menus are cheap (17-25 Eur), the wine list is really impressive: they say they have approx. 200 different wines... The good thing is that you can have wine by the glass that matches your meal.
Closed on Sundays and Mondays!
Favorite Dish: They change the menu regularly so there's always something new and good.

The friend who invited me to this restaurant -that i did not know at all- had recommended me to dress smartly. So i did. I must admit i was rather upset when we got there: the restaurant is not stylish at all and the decors is of the most simple kind! I felt totally out of place. The atmosphere is so great though that i forgot about everything in a few moments. The cook then came to our table to propose us what she would be able to cook for us that night. She's totally informal and you soon have the feeling to be at home. She will propose you the most amazing dishes and combinations of ingredients and you kind of think that the woman has lost her marbles long ago and that there's nothing much you can do for her. But you have to choose something to eat. So you pick something at random, having no clue of what you're going to have in front of you. A few moments later, she turns up with a huge plate full of food of the most attractive smell and look but you're hoping this is not going to be yours because it's completely huge! Alas, it is what you ordered and you ponder for a while, looking at this mountain of food and wondering how in the world you'll be able to eat it all. And then you taste it. At that precise moment, you know that the woman to whom you spoke is nothing else than a genius. The food is fine, the taste is delicious and unusual. You actually discover new tastes that your mouth would have never imagined to taste. When your stomack tells you there's no room left for another bite, the husband shows up and asks you if you want an herbal tea. You're so full that you're very glad he does so and accept promply. He then comes back with a tiny bottle of homemade 'eau de vie' which tastes delicious and it's so good that you find yourself hoping that the bottle was a bit bigger!
I did not pay the bill but i know it is a bit pricy: aprox. 150FRF per person. But then again, it is worth the experience!
Favorite Dish: All the dishes are based on cheese. You won't find the typical dishes of the area though, the cook has a wonderful -and savorous- imagination and it's worth trying everything she's proposing you!
