Gandy store in Grenoble by nomadig Gandy is a huge bag shop in the downtown Grenoble, quite near Galeries Lafayette department store. The store is an excellent destination for all of us that have never enough bags. The selection is excellent, there are bags on several floors. As in most bag shops, most of the stuff is for ladies. There are also some backbags and other items that can be worn by a man, and the basement has a selection of luggage. Leave a Comment Theme: OtherAddress: 2 Rue MolièrePhone: +33 4 7646 2994

A very good shoppingcenter located outside the city center is "Grand place" with a lot of shops, supermarkets and department stores. It's quite a long way from the city centre but it's worth the effort goint there, or so I think. One of the supermarkets there had a great facility, in their CD department there was a machine where you could listen to almost all CD they had, just put the CD-cover into the machine and the machine read the barcode on the back and voilà...music!! I was impressed. Leave a Comment Theme: OtherDirections: For "Grand place" take the tram southbound (direction: Echirolles - Denis Papin) to Grand place.

Leave a Comment Theme: Other

Grenoble C&A by nomadig C&A looks like a better fashion store outside and a discount store inside. The garments are packed really tight and they look already somewhat worn -- and this is not a fashion statement. The store has clothes for both sexes. The garment design is barely mediocre, "me too" kind of emblems and colours. Sort of Diesel without the twist and the quality. Don't go there. (Photo from Decathlon website) by vinc_bilb Decathlon provides a wide range of sporting goods, from tennis racquets to advanced scuba diving equipment, in large superstores.
"Making the pleasure of sport accessible to as many as people as possible": all sport and brands, from beginners to professionals: mountain sport equipment, climbing, skiing, fitness, athletism, bikes, ... Decathlon is one of the few sports manufacturers that makes and sells its own products, with a separate brand name (Geonaute for nomadic athletism, Rockrider for mountainbikes, ...). Despite the relatively low cost of its own brands, Decathlon often come top in quality ( bikes are often highly rated among cycling enthusiasts) and is giving value for money and reliability. The Quechua mountain sports brand (shoes, bags, clothing , climbing,...) is often rated as some of the best on the market, better than many more expensive brands. NB: I'm not working for Decathlon group. I'm just a user! Rely on staff / sales assistant advises: they are (mandatory requirement) active sportsperson and will support you very efficiently.
For same level of Quality, Decathlon is ~ 20-40% cheaper than the others Theme: Sporting GoodsDirections: 3 Decathlon stores are located in Grenoble area (see website for details and maps) * ECHIROLLES (Espace COMBOIRE) * LA TRONCHE (Next to Carrefour mall) * ST EGREVE (Next to Carrefour mall) It is also possible to buy online for delivery in France ONLYWebsite: http://www.decathlon.com/

Grenoble FNAC by nomadig FNAC is absolutely the best store to buy electronics and computers in France, as their selection is really extensive and the prices are not that bad. Language barrier may be a problem for those that don't speak French. Grenoble has two FNAC stores -- one in the city centre is located between Galeries Lafayette and McDonald's. The store is located in the basement, and has all the major categories in home entertainment, including music. Galeries Lafayette by nomadig Galeries Lafayette is the original department store in Paris that has been imitated in every self-respecting store throughout the world. The original store has been later expanded into a chain that has outlets in every major French city. Grenoble is not an exception, and the department store is located on very prime spot in the middle of the walking centre. The store has four floors. The first one is dedicated, as usually, to cosmetics, fragnances and accessories. The second floor hosts menswear and third womenswear. The fourth floor is dedicated to children. Most major middlepriced brands can be found in the store, but I could not spot that many luxury brands. Maybe they are exclusive to the Paris store? The Grenoble outlet is surprisingly compact. I thought that it would be much bigger, but the space is quite limited and thus the items are packed -- this creates a little too claustrophobic feeling, at least to me. Leave a Comment
