    Église Notre-Dame, the nave

by JLBG Written Apr 19, 2005 6088 reviews

    4.5 out of 5 starsHelpfulness

Notre-Dame cathedral is complex. Its nave was built in the first half of the XIIIth, the south part in 1470. Renaissance chapels were added at the beginning of the XVIth. Major alterations took place in the XIXth. The clocktower-porch seems to be the oldest part. The two lower levels date from the origin while the third is from the XVIIth. In 1884, it was added a brick archivolt and a corniche

    Église Notre-Dame, the entrance

by JLBG Written Apr 19, 2005 6088 reviews

    4.5 out of 5 starsHelpfulness

The Église Notre-Dame was built in a bend of the wall circling the bishop district. It is actually a double cathedral : Notre-Dame cathedral built in the XIIIth century along Saint Hugues church, built in the Xith century. The porch is Romanesque, on the right side of the choir, the XVth ciborium is "gothique flamboyant" and the bas relief from the XVIIth gives scenes of the life of Jesus

Open every day except Tuesdays. From November 1st to April 30th : 10h-18h
    From May 2nd to October 31st : 10h-19h
