In 1888, Édouard REY, the mayor responsible for its building failed to be reelected. Several towers still exist but can hardly be seen in the entanglement of old houses in the very city center. When streets have been open, it has disappeared and its memories remains thanks to iron nails sealed in the ground

The inside of the "Halle Sainte-Claire" is not easy to photograph as the booth built for the various shops have walls that forbid having a general view. You will find every fresh food shop except green grocers who are outside : fish and sea food (the photo), pork, beef, lamb, kid, poultry. There is even one of the last "tripier" (tripe shop) in France that sells, brains, kidney; liver, tripe, "rognons blancs" (white kidneys : bull and ram testicles).
