    Skiing in la Rosière

    by MM212 Updated Jan 29, 2015

La Rosière offers a decent network of ski slopes with good-quality skiing. The resort lies at 1850m and the top altitude is 2640m. It is also connected to la Thuile in Italy and the two ski areas make up the contiguous Espace San Bernardo ski area.

    Skiing in Italy (la Thuile)

    by MM212 Updated Jan 29, 2015

Linked to la Rosiere, la Thuile is a charming Italian resort on the other side of the mountain border. The two resorts together for the contiguous ski area called Espace San Bernardo. When visiting la Rosiere, make sure to ski on the Italian side, and time permitting, stop by in the actual town for a delicious Italian meal.

    Views over Bourg-St-Maurice

    by MM212 Updated Jan 28, 2015

Bourg-Saint-Maurice is located at the bottom of the valley in which la Rosière and its slopes lie. It is surrounded by ski resorts, including les Arcs on the other side of the valley, facing la Rosière. Anyone travelling to these ski resorts will have to transit through Bourg-St-Maurice, whether by train or car. Except, as in my case, if la Rosière is accessed on skis from the Italian side! The view over Bourg-St-Maurice from la Rosière is incredible - see attached photo.

l'Antigel: Fine dining on the slopes!

    by MM212 Updated Jan 23, 2015

L'Antigel was the first restaurant we saw on the slopes of la Rosière coming from Italy. We were here for an early lunch before most of the tables filled up. It turned out to be a proper sit-down restaurant, which is more typical in French resorts than Italian ones. The food was delicious - definitely French/Savoyarde cuisine - and the staff was very efficient and friendly. I highly recommend this place. It is located halfway down the slope along the Roches Noires lift.
