For those on holiday with children the Paradis des Praz offers a nice way to spend a day out.
In a beautiful wood, you will find a stream with a barrage to create a small pond, and plenty of opportunities for the children to play adventurous games, such as a Tyrolean traverse and an Hymalaian bridge, or a bit less adventurous, but surely attractive, like pony rides in the wood.
In the meantime the grown-ups will sit at one of the many tables under the shade of the big old trees, and enjoy the drinks and food of the buvette (a food kiosk). From mid-June to mid-September the buvette is open every day, from 10.00 to 18.00 and there is a big barbecue at lunchtime.
A pony ride of 10 minutes costs 4euros, the other attractions are free for the clients of the buvette.

The main thing that attracts tourists to Les Praz is the cable car to the Flégère. This cable car takes you to the Flégére station, at an altitude of 1877 metres above sea level, and from there you have several hiking possibilities. For instance you can choose one of the paths of the Grand Balcon Sud, a magnificent natural terrace facing the Mont Blanc, to the Chéresys lakes, five small alpine lakes at the foot of the Aiguilles Rouges. Or you can take the chairlift to the Index station (altitude 2396 m.) where more paths depart.
In July and August the cable car starts operating at 7.40 in the morning and the last departure from the Flégère to come down is at 17.45. Departures are every 15 minutes. A return ticket for adults costs 12 euros.
