In June, on Saint Jean day, the custom is to prepare fires at the top of the mountains around Megeve. It is a nice event to watch at night time. It is a Christian Catholic custom but the root of this custom seems to come from celtic customs to worship the god called Belennos. More traditions about Megeve can be found on http://www.mageva.com, the old celtic name of Megeve is MagEva.
