    Ski and boot hire

    by Flash72 Written Jan 27, 2006

Favorite thing: Hire your kit from Francois Baude ski shop, it's 20 yds from the Pleney Telecabine and you can leave your kit there at no extra charge. Saves you having to march back and forth in your boots. January cost for 7 full days is 110 euros.

    Summer view on Morzine

    Morzine village

Favorite thing: Deep in a little valley gentle curves stretch as far as the Swiss frontier. Morzine is a village which is keen to preserve the gentle pace of life and authentic Savoyard charm. Right in the heart of th Portes du Soleil area, it is an ideal point from which to set out and dicover a wealth of possibilities. The resort has kept the appearance of a village from another time : wooden façades, carved balconies and slate-covered roofs.

    Yvoire medieval town

Favorite thing: Just 45 minutes drive away, Lake Geneva offers some splendid scenery. Cruises (expensive though) are available from just a simple crossing to a full tour around the lake.
Visit Yvoire, a Medieval town known as one of the most beautiful villages in France.

    Slate Valley

    Slate Valley Morzine

Favorite thing: A view on the Slate valley. Yet five mines are still open today supplying materials for roof tiling, tiling and for souvenirs. A young slate worker offers weekly guided tours, to explain the history of each process and demonstrate the techniques used in working with slate.

    raquettes

    Morzine's town hall

by cadzand Updated Jan 26, 2004

    La mairie = town hall

Favorite thing: In the old city center, the town hall faces the Drance river and the church. There are still many typical houses, decorated with woodcarvings, hiding some local delicatessen shops.
