Favorite thing: If you do overheat, there seemed to be plenty of water troughs around to jump in to cool your ardour, or to fill up your cars radiator from.
These probably exist from a time before running water, although water didn't seem to be too much of a problem there, I guess they must have a lot of snow melt. With the number of plants around, they would need a lot of water to keep them all alive.

Favorite thing: The local residents seem to take great care in the appearance of both their houses and their gardens. This garden had utilised some old mill stones dating back to the 1880's to make a pretty flower display.
Most gardens had fruit trees or vegetable gardens growing in them too. There were also plenty of water troughs around to help people water their gardens, although I suspect these were originally their for the locals drinking water in the days before piped water.

Favorite thing: Could this be the Forbidden Fruit? I'm not so sure, but the local residents all tended to have large gardens with plenty of fruit and vegetables growing in, such as grapes, apples, pears and tomatoes. I think people try and be at least partially self sufficient being up in the mountains. The nearest supermarket must be a reasonable distance away, and I don't even recollect seing a corner shop there.
Fondest memory: Fresh Fruit is so much nicer when it is just picked - no I didn't help myself to any, but it is easy to buy fresh fruit in the markets around the area, and it tastes much better than the sort of stuff you buy in the supermarket in England.

Favorite thing: I had no idea what sort of place Pussy would be like when I first visited. I knew it would be tiny, but I wasn't even sure if it would be signposted or whether I would even be able to find it. I was rather pleasantly surprised.
As you can see from this shot, it is actually a rather pretty village in the Alps that takes a lot of pride in its appearance. If you want to visit a quiet little Alpine Village, it is a nice place to pick. This is the first view you will probably see of Pussy as you arrive in th village. I took this picture on a bridge that leads into the village over a chasm with a stream below.
Fondest memory: Lovely little Alpine Village

Favorite thing: Can you believe that Pussy is in the Commune of Lechery, or should that be Lechere? No? Well it is a little hard to believe, but that is exactly what the Notice on the Pussy Notice board said. It is a tiny little village, so the contents of what was on the signs wasn't actually that interesting, but this one did amuse me (perhaps I am just easily pleased...)
Fondest memory: Hmmm, that's a tough one....

Favorite thing: Pussy is in the Haute Savoie region of France, which is predominantly the mountainous Alpine region near Switzerland.
I really struggled to find this place. I had to resort to the internet and Multimap to find it in the end, as even a lot of locals had never heard of it. The attached URL will help you find it a bit better: http://www.multimap.com/map/browse.cgi?client=public&X=717500.955401565&Y=5677500.32799977&width=500&height=300&gride=718494.955401565&gridn=5678199.32799977&srec=0&coordsys=mercator&db=FR&addr1=&addr2=&addr3=pussy&pc=&advanced=&local=&localinfosel=&kw=&inmap=&table=&ovtype=&zm=0&in.x=5&in.y=11&scale=100000
It is about an hour away by road from Annecy, which is another French town I highly recommend a visit to.
