The Ardeche is a very popular area for kyaking & canoing, there are dozens of water sport schools and hire centres dotted along the river shores. 62 km of the 120km Ardeche River is navigatable, with 20 sets of rapids along the way to get your heart pumping.
The schools were not open when we visited, but we do plan to return & have a go one day. In the 70s my aunt actually worked as a watersports intructor here.
The steep rocky gorges also make this a great place for rock climbing, over the hills mountain biking & also hiking.
Check out the web page below for lots of great information about all the activities in the area.
