Im sure that anyone that has ever hit the slopes, be it on skis or on a board, can agree with me when i say you end up aching.
I could barely move my arms and shoulders after the countless hours of trying to get up on my heel edge from the floor. You get to the stage when all you want is that nice relaxing bath, the problem is not very many places in the Alps have baths and i was staying where there was only showers.
After a lot of complaing and a trip down the Maison de Tignes, i was given a brochure for Village Montana. Basically, its a hotel five mins walk from from where i was.
After looking at the brochure we all decided we were going to go and have a look.
For 20 Euros, you got the use of the Sauna, Steam Room, Outdoor Heated Swimming Pool, Jacuzzi amd the Hot and cold Showers. Excelent we thought, it doesnt close till eight at night, the problem came when we realised we had no swimming gear. But believe it or not they had spare ones which they hired for 5 euros a piece. They are not the nicest looking or best fitting but they soon get forgotten when al your aches and pains are washed away.
They do a range of other treatments including masage and other beauty treatments but these have to be paid for seperately.
Im going to Tignes again in April and im definately taking my bikini with me this time!!

Due to its altitude Tignes has a very reliable snow record which, after recent seasons of reduced snowfall, has encouraged people to choose higher mountain resorts. According to 'The good Ski & Snowboarding Guide 2005' Tignes/Val d'Isere is one of only two ski areas in France listed as 'Snow-sure resorts'.
The Famous Kelly skipist and in general skipisted made up of 300kms of piste with 137 different runs to choose from, 9 slalom stadiums, 2 mogul fields, 2 halfpipes, 2 snowparks and 97 lifts to get you round the mountains.

Take the furnicular train up to Grand Motte peak and either ski/snowboard all the way down or enjoy another hot chocolate at the restaurant. There's an igloo there, accessible only if you ski down from the restaurant to the place.

For 50 Euros, you could ride a sleigh pulled by three huskies, or be a passenger for 30 Euros. Rides last about 30 minutes, but, due to my falling over (read my Intro page to Tignes), my ride took an hour or so, no extra charge!
The ride will take you on and around the frozen lake in Tignes and the snow-covered slopes of what is the golf course in the summer.

I hope I got the French bit right... that's "hot chocolate for one, please". I enjoyed my solo hot chololate experience, sitting by the piste and enjoy the scene.
