Auchan is yet another hypermarket. Auchan's focus is on groceries and they sell other things as a supplement. That is opposite of Carrefour which is a department store with a grocery store in it. Groceries and more. The prices seemed reasonable enough.

Casino is a national chain of grocery stores which come in every shape and size. Some also have a cafeteria, which is right good. In the smaller towns, Petit Casino is just a smaller version of the grocery store. At Petit Casino, you can buy the basic foods. For more extravagant cuisine, go to the larger Casinos. Casino is rather reasonable as they are located in more modest neighbourhoods, not just the snooty side of town.

fnac was all over France; it's a chain of bookstores just like Barnes and Noble or Borders in the States; levels and levels of books and music and videos, even in smaller cities and towns, like Orleans. We loved shopping there, especially buying magazines, which, as in other European countries, usually come with really nice free stuff, such as books, scarves, even CDs!
Well its just an ordinary everyday product. But the package make the salt La Baleine to an outstanding article. You can find it in every supermarket. It is really cheap and not such a common souvenir.
THE MALL AT LA DEFENSE IS THE LARGEST IN EUROPE. It has everything you could ever want or dream up. Perfume. You can spray to your heart's content here.Wine. It is so cheap here.
