The whole country

by bhemak

I think the title is descriptive enough. If you must go bring lots of cash as it will be drained. Bring your own food to eat. Bring a friend so you have some one to talk to. Then pretend you are not in France.Their wine is good, so maybe drink some of that to try to forget how crappy France is. Germany is equally historic and much more friendly to Americans (as of 1997, maybe less now). It is just as expensive, but a better value and with good food and beer.

Paris is no different!

by ets

not to worry; the places are quite safe. dont be surprised when you peruse the liiterature and discover that most is printed in NYC. go to a Chinese restaurant in Paris. They're everywhere and quite good.

Read well

by dr.firas

Okey if you are not careful and you want to go to the station called Richelieu-Drouotbut then you throw a look to the same line in the bad direction and you read Reuilly Diderotnames will means nothing to you and you can get out in the wrong station, and you'll be pissed off, please read well the name of the station, they could be similar, and in the same lines!

Photographing inside is forbidden

by dr.firas

Argh so boring, such a beauty like Sacre Coeur and it is forbidden to take a photo inside, hee hee but not for the crazy Dentist with the Syndrome: Chronical VTmania LOLI searched for a corner where the watchers can't see me, and took a fast picture as if I was stealing or something, and it was good having my little pocket digi camera Casio EX-S2James Bond's favorite way to espionage ha ha ha ha ha!

The little machine

by dr.firas

The little machine to but products like Snickers, Mars, Twix, Cola's and etc... is every where in Paris, that's a good solution for having your order fast and cheaper than many other places, but don't forget that you can alwasy have a better price in other supermarkets!I always use the comparing prices of Water!here you'll have it for 1,50 Euroand in the supermarket the same water for 25 cents!

To Eat or Not To Eat

by Cynthia_marie

Don't feel you have to eat at one the restaurants to experience the full enjoyment of being at Disneyland. Grab a hotdog (foot longs) at one of the local cafes along Main Street; it's just as good. Plus, you will have saved yourself a fortune. If you must eat at one of the restaurants, then ask the waiter/waitress if you can order off the kids menu. If not, then at least enjoy the scenery/interior . There are many shops located along Main Street. Talk a walk up and down both sides; there are cafes and small eating establishments where it is much cheaper to grab a sandwich or burger.

Closed

by dr.firas

Some places could attract you like the catacumbs, but often they are closed, some other places could be opened but with a little narrow gate, and a small way to get in, don't be afraid to pass through even when people inside will look at you in a wierd way, they will understand soon you are a tourist or a VT maniaque! LOL

Boucherie, Boulangerie, Patissier

by dr.firas

Boucherie, Boulangerie, Patissier they are all the same in one tourist common trap, there all the prices of the drinks are really exagerated, so be careful and remember you could ever have good drinks for better prices with big difference in any supermarket.

Don't get rid of your ticket!

by dr.firas

Many stations in the Metro and more in RER are with changing points, even when you buy one ticket for dispossible using, keep it, and don't throw it, you can use it in the changing next border even if it is for one time using if you didn't left the station and went out to the citty!otherwise you will be angry to have to buy a new one for one direction, so why too, be careful, you will have time to get rid of it after you are sure you are in the place you wanted to be ;-)

Tip Photo
Towers Where!

by dr.firas

Near the pantheon there is a wonderful church St.Etienne, and just near St.Etienne you have a beautiful Tower, if you wanna enter you will never find the right way, many towers in France seems like they have an enterance, but they don't they are just put on a big building!
