You asked for it Doc!

by dr.firas

Again be careful, if you are alone and you want to have a picture with one of the most famous monuments in Paris such like the Pantheon!then you should wait for such results, you are well taken in the photo with a small part of the monument, Typical thing when you have digi camera, many people don't know how to use!

Statue No!!!

by dr.firas

Ha ha ha ha from the first look you will be fooled and think it is a statue, No it is a man painted in White, amazing he keeps that position for hours and almost never move!this is his way to earn money, you can have a photo next to him only if you throw some coins in his box!LOL I took a picture of him for free!

Discounts

by dr.firas

To have a good Discount in moving in France by Train, you have 2 possibelities:Either having the age of 25 and younger, or ordering your tickets one month before your date of willing to go!That's quite impossible for those who are older than 25 already, and for those who want to go somewhere urgently!

Seasons

by dr.firas

When you come in the Low Season when it is cold, you could be dispointed of the fact that the Fountains are not working, and that many statues are covered!that's really an unfortune fact, but in my opinion Versailles is always Versailles! and you will find it interesting even in the Low season! Except this fact and preaper yourself to see 70% of Versailles activities and beauty! hee hee you say to yourself like I did:I'll Be BackThanks Arnold!

Paris-beautiful but be careful!

by Shelly6622

Paris is a very beautiful and a city full of historical.Maybe it was my first time in Europe and i am quite suprise there are a lot of dog ***s along the streets. It is quite scary and tourist have to be more careful.Maybe i am staying in Singapore and it is a very clean city here. But i do think that a beautiful city should have a clean city as well.Just be careful when u walking around Paris.U might not know what are u going to step on. Watch when you are walking.

Don't be trapped by the publicity of Blue Coast...

by diamond7

The "Blue Coast" is a myth, there are many wonderful places all over the France that are much more beautiful than Blue Coast. Let the "Riviera" to the people who pretend being noted, and enjoy the true wonder places of France

St. Emilion

by Canadienne

We spent half a day in St. Emilion on the way to Bordeaux (to fly to Paris). That was probably still a couple hours more than it merited. It's a beautiful place ~ I wouldn't deny it that ~ and there is an interesting tour of some sights around an underground church, but the church itself is closed for severe structural defects and there is no known re-opening date. It's very busy with tourists ~ business and pleasure. If you're buying cases of wine to take home, I'd recommend it for the town is filled with nothing but wine shops. Otherwise, stay longer in Bergerac (as I wished I had). :-)

Fast-Food

by barryg23

If you are hoping to escape the effects of globalization while visiting France, then you'll be disappointed on a visit to virtually any town or city. The big 'M' signs are everywhere and McDonalds are very popular over here. There is also a chain called Quick, which I think took over from Burger King all over France. There is a French fast-food chain which I like. It's called Pomme de Pain (I think! - please let me know if I have the name wrong) and is found in many major towns and cities.

Expensive coffee!

by barryg23

Don't get me wrong, the cafe's are wonderful. However, if you are a big coffee drinker like I am, you will find that money disappears rather fast - especially if you like to have your coffee while sitting and watching the world go by en terrasse. One thing i learned in travelling around France is that McDonalds - of all places - make a great coffee and it's a lot cheaper than any of the posh cafes such as Cafe de Flore. However, there is a better atmosphere in Cafe de Flore and it does feel a lot more French or Parisien (it is hard to imagine Sartre and De Beauvoir in McDonalds!). Such feelings are less important when you're on a tight student budget... Go with someone who will take care of l'addition. McDonalds?!

The rich and famous... but smart?

by lostaussie

St. Tropez is the holiday home of the rich and famous... and the very rich!!! Some of the boats in the harbour were the size that any good, hard-working stock-broker, could realistically hope to one day own a house of that size. Mind you, many of the boats were commercial vessels, yet still the perception of not quite being in the average income-earner group here was justified. All in all, a nice town, a nice harbour with nice views to the not-quite-so-rich on the other side of the Cote dAzur. But I asked myself numerous times- if I was this rich, why would I bother with this area. I am not saying that it is not nice, just thinking that with near unlimited funds, I would look for something a little better, which there definitely is on this earth. Granted, most of the Hefners, Gates and Murdochs et al are moored a little out of town, but to me, this town was too fake, like a scene out of a...
